In ‘The Scene Where We Learn to Handle Snakes’, routine life is interrupted by the appearance of a strange, black ooze. Staged in the kitchen, hallway, and courtyard of a house, three interrelated scenes are performedsimultaneously to immerse the audience in visions of nature, domesticity, and corporate power as they weave and clash to create new
'life forms.' This site-specific work of puppetry, dance, physical acting, and original music is a collaboration between artists Chris Green, Erin Orr, Chia-huei, and Yen-yu.

We used to be real. And we are counterfeit now.
We see, and are being seen.
We peep on everything and have everything recorded and emptied.
We are our own video monitors.
We chew our own eyeballs as if chewing gums.
We blow this colossal black bubble. Then, we go blind.

One day, on the way backhome in the evening, the college student Ivan was terribly hungry.
He warmed himself by the bonfire on the road in the wilderness, and talked casually to a widow and her daughter about the story in the Gospel that Peter disowned Jesus three times. “The past and the present,” he thought, “are connected by a long series of continuous and corresponsive events.” He felt that he had just seen both ends of that chain; that when he touched one end the other quivered.”
Based on the short masterpiece by the Russian author Anton Chekhov《The Student》, it’s a small story told in a small space that strides over time in a short time.
